José Mendonça is a multidisciplinary designer based in London,interested in Fashion & Textiles, with a passion for craftsmanship interaction in art & design.
Born in Mozambique and growing up in Portugal, José Mendonça began his professional career with his own label - HUIPIL.
In 2003 he completed a Master's in Design for Textiles Futures at Central St Martins - London, developing the idea of Ultra-Modernity in design, to highlight “New codes of masculinity”.
He worked with internationally recognized designers in London and Paris. In recent years he was a design and trend forecasting consultant for the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles - London. Afterwards he began his collaboration as artistic director in the Paris house of Claude Montana.He has also been collaborating as design consultant /Associate Lecturer at UBI - Universidade Beira Interior/Portugal.
Today, José Mendonça is consulting as well developing personal projects within the scope of his artistic activity as a Textile & Fashion Designer.
